  28. I'm guessing here (I missed last weeks B5), but I THINK the actual bolts
  29. are done with a Mac program called AfterEffects, but I;ve also heard that
  30. is is LW done.  IF you want the find the previous discussion, check the
  31. old message logs. :>

  33. ANYWAY...  I would do it by making a refractive shpere (say, 1.5 or so for
  34. the Refraction Index), and simply put a lens flare in the middle with red
  35. outter glow off (so the glow will be the color of the light, say, blue).

  38. I DO know that the space ship plasma bolts are done with a row of say 7
  39. lens flares and motion blur.  You parent the lensflares to a null, make a
  40. pretty dense line, and move the end ones a little closer in.  Do some
  41. motion blur, and PRESTO!  instant plasma bolts (I've tried it -- it
  42. works).  It only works well on certain angles, though, mainly side views.
